Two platforms · pick what fits your team

WordPress Elementor. Or Astro.

Both produce AI-citable surfaces. The choice is editorial workflow — what your team can comfortably edit and what fits the architecture you need.

WordPress + Elementor

Fits Operators with an existing in-house editor or marketing person who's already used WordPress, or who want a familiar block-based editing experience.

Strengths

  • Familiar editing experience — visual block editor
  • Wide plugin ecosystem (Yoast, RankMath, WPML, WooCommerce where booking flows need it)
  • Easy hand-off to in-house staff or freelance editors
  • Hosting flexibility — can sit on Hosting and Maintenance or any managed WP host

Trade-offs

  • Slightly slower out of the box (mitigated with caching + LiteSpeed where hosted)
  • Plugin licences (Elementor Pro, advanced SEO plugins) recur — included in our Hosting plan

Astro

Fits Operators with technical curiosity, multi-language requirements, or a need for multi-property architecture. The fastest possible AI-citable surface.

Strengths

  • Fastest possible page loads — measured FCP often <0.3s
  • Schema + structured data built into the build process, not bolted on
  • Content-collection-as-data architecture: services, destinations, ICPs, case studies as MDX files
  • Same engine bookedwild.com runs on; we know it well

Trade-offs

  • Less familiar editing experience — content lives in MDX files (we can train any editor in 30 minutes)
  • Edits need a build step (auto-deployed via Vercel — typically 30 seconds)

FAQ

Things operators ask before they buy a build.

Why two platforms? Do you have a preference?

Honest answer: we'd build on Astro by default for AI citation performance — it's the fastest possible surface and schema is structural, not bolted-on. But many operators have an in-house editor or marketing person already comfortable with WordPress, and pushing them onto an unfamiliar stack creates friction that costs more than the performance difference. We pick the platform that fits your team, not the platform that flatters our bias.

Can I move from WordPress to Astro later (or vice versa)?

Yes. Both platforms output clean structured content — moving content between them is a content-migration task, not a rebuild. We've done it both directions. Pricing depends on page count; usually 30–50% of the original build price for a like-for-like move.

What's not included?

Photography, copywriting beyond what we already have on your brand voice, paid plugin licences outside of what's in Hosting, third-party platform fees (Bokun, HostAway, Stripe, etc.), or content beyond the page-count band. Photography and copywriting can layer in at quoted rates; we don't pad fixed-fee scope with them.

When should I take Solo vs Operator vs Bespoke?

Solo if you're one operator running one property/business and want a fast, schema-marked surface live in a month. Operator if you have multiple bookable units, need editorial CMS, or run multilingual. Bespoke if you're a collective, DMO, or multi-property group where the architecture itself is part of the value.

Is hosting included?

Three months free with any website build. Beyond that, Hosting and Maintenance is £85/mo and includes monthly schema audits, plugin licences, security patches, and citation surface maintenance.

Payment terms?

Solo Site: 50% on order, 50% on go-live. Operator Site: 25% on order, 50% at staging sign-off, 25% on go-live. Bespoke: milestone-based, agreed at scope stage. All Stripe or bank transfer.

Two minutes for the audit. We'll know which tier fits.
